Big island international marathon
On march 18th 2012 the 15th annual Big island international marathon will arrive.This certified, scenic course follows "the coast of old Hawaii" along the Pacific Ocean, pasting lavish waterfalls, over narrow bridges,blacksand and lava beaches.It is going to take place in the town of hilo with Enthusiastic volunteers stationed at well stocked aid stations. Awards will be given in various age groups, entertainment and wonderful food at the Finish Line make this a memorable event for everyone. Go to www.hilomarathon.org to fill out your entry form.
Mauna Kea 200
Hey guys!!!! its that time of year again. On May 26th and 27th of this year the 37th annual Mauna Kea 200 enduro race will be going on.This enduro is a 2 day, 165 mile off-road race on the big island of Hawaii. The Mauna Kea 200 is a true test of skill and endurence, riders from all over the Hawaiian island as well as all over the united states come to try there hand in this grewling race.Lai Nani Resort will be at this thrilling race to support this wonderful event. Also Lai Nani's own cory Hajek will be participating in the atv class for the race. We look forward to this event and hope everyone will come and enjoy it as well. The 10th Annual Hilo Chinese New Year Festival celebrates the Year of the Dragon with lion dancers parading through downtown Hilo beginning at 9 a.m. The lions open the free Festival at 10 a.m. at Kalakaua Park, which is filled with arts, crafts, Hawaiian and Asian gifts, international food booths, and cultural information. Performances, calligraphy, I-Ching and martial arts demonstrations along with a free food tasting and free kids activities turns the park into a mini-Chinatown for the day and offers something for everyone.
